The Christian Counselor Network

The Christian Counselor Network of the Columbia Basin

Name and Acronym

The name of this association shall be the Christian Counselor Network of the Columbia Basin.  The official acronym of this association shall be CCN.

Mission

The Christian Counselor Network serves as a dynamic and professional mentoring, training, and resource development organization for Christian professional counselors who work in private practice, public agencies, private agencies, or churches in the Columbia Basin region of SE Washington and NE Oregon.

Purpose

  • to provide Christian professional counselors the skills, abilities, and knowledge that will enable them to effectively and appropriately integrate their faith into their clinical practice;
  • to provide a forum where Christian professional counselors can interact with other Christian professional counselors to exchange information, develop and implement new ideas, and learn new skills; and,
  • to provide a venue where Christian professional counselors can encourage, support, collaborate and identify with one another.

Core Values

  • The CCN believes that good clinical practice addresses all four dimensions of human existence: body, mind, spirit and community.
  • The CCN believes in a strong commitment to personal and professional growth.
  • The CCN believes that accountability and support are critical to a clinician’s personal health and professional competency.
  • The CCN believes in confidentiality and in the responsible management of information.
  • The CCN holds to the Statement of Faith and the Code of Ethics of the American Association of Christian Counselors (www.aacc.net).

Participation

Participation shall be open to state licensed or licensable professional counselors, social workers and psychologists who live in or practice within the Columbia Basin region and who ascribe to the Statement of Faith and Code of Ethics of the American Association of Christian Counselors.

   

The CCN is an informal collegial network of Christian counseling professionals who choose to network with one another for professional and personal benefit.  The network and its activities are not to be construed as providing clinical supervision for the participants.  The participants are independent practitioners and participation in this network in no way imputes responsibility for one another’s practices.  No other rights are stated or implied.

  

Meetings

 

Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at 12:00 noon in Room 300 at Central Church (same address as the main office of the counseling center). Bring a brown bag lunch and share the lunch hour with us. Call the center for more information.
